Brian holds a degree in Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis and comes to Round Pond Estate from winemaking positions at Trefethen Vineyards and Vineyard 29. He was raised overseas and moved often. In fact, he attended four different high schools on three different continents. One of these stops was Perth, Western Australia, where local vineyards sparked his interest in wine. After completing his degree at UC Davis, Brian worked harvests at Iron Horse Vineyards in Sonoma, Salitage in Pemberton Australia, and Napa Wine Company in Oakville. His first job as an Enologist was at Trefethen Vineyards where he learned how to make technically sound, vineyard driven wines that expressed fruit qualities over those of winemaking manipulation. After two and a half years, Brian turned his focus to ultra premium small production winemaking and moved to Vineyard 29, where he became Assistant Winemaker. At Vineyard 29, Brian was lucky to work with some of the most respected winemakers in the Napa Valley, including Philippe Melka, and Celia Masyczek while quickly learning many new cutting edge techniques. In 2007, Brian joined Round Pond as Assistant Winemaker. In January 2009, Brian was promoted to Winemaker at Round Pond, where he is carrying on Round Pond's mission to craft the highest quality wines from Round Pond's Rutherford Estate.
